Following a family tragedy, Inspector Robert Lewis (Kevin Whately) took a two-year assignment in the British Virgin Islands. Now he’s back in familiar territory -- Oxford, England--five years after the death of his long-time partner, the legendary Inspector Morse (John Thaw).

Teamed up with the much younger Detective Sergeant James Hathaway (Laurence Fox, Island At War), Lewis barely makes it out of the airport before beginning the murder investigation of American college student Regan Peverill. As Lewis and Hathaway join forces, they are led to another student, Danny Griffon, a troubled young man from a prominent family filled with secrets. Lewis reaches back to his own past when he learns that Danny Griffon's previous brush with the law was investigated by a certain Inspector Morse. Can his old boss help him crack this case?

Meanwhile, Lewis’ new boss, Chief Superintendent Jean Innocent, has plans to move him off of the front lines to a training assignment--a plan that he is determined to resist.

Special DVD features include access to the MYSTERY! Web site, scene selection and closed captions.
